Lakshmi Narasimha is one of the five iconographical forms of Narasimha, the others being Jvala Narasimha, Gandaberunda Narasimha, Ugra Narasimha, and Yoga Narasimha. The depiction of this combined form is not as common as the individual iconographies of each. However, when they are portrayed together, it typically illustrates a narrative in which Lakshmi intervenes to pacify the wrath of Narasimha after he kills the demon Hiranyakashipu.
Mahaveer Swami has depicted the ferocious form of Narasimha with his consort, Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, seated on his lap. The artist has beautifully captured the contrasting nature of Narasimha, where, despite his contorted and enraged face, he appears serene in this portrayal.
