The Dhokra Maquette’s’ are Ashiesh Shah’s first explorations with the iconic craft from Chhattisgarh – ‘Dhokra’ is fashioned from bronze and copper based alloys using a ‘lost wax casting’ method, taking upto months to be created. These design objects are the initial explorations of scale, finish and form, the beginning of a deeper study and form development process at The Atelier.
